Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander Visited Whitefield Fire Department
WHITEFIELD, N.H. — August 18, 2026 — Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander visited the Whitefield Fire Department on August 17 to see firsthand the department’s new Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fire engine, which was made possible through $375,000 in federal Congressionally Directed Spending she helped secure.
During her visit, Congresswoman Goodlander toured the new four-wheel-drive, high-clearance apparatus and met with members of the Whitefield Fire Department and two selectmen to discuss its capabilities and the important role it will play in protecting communities throughout northern New Hampshire and northern Vermont.
The $429,000 engine replaces a 42-year-old forest fire engine and provides Whitefield and surrounding communities with a modern resource for wildland fire response.
The Town of Whitefield sincerely thanks Congresswoman Goodlander for her continued support of the North Country and for helping make this important investment in regional public safety possible.
