TOWN OF WHITEFIELD, NEW HAMPSHIRE
WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR – GRADE III
The Town of Whitefield is seeking a qualified New Hampshire Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operator to join its Water & Wastewater Department.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation and maintenance of the Town’s wastewater treatment facilities. Duties include monitoring treatment processes, conducting required sampling and testing, maintaining operating and regulatory records, monitoring SCADA and alarm systems, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting, managing treatment chemicals and supplies, and responding to operational issues and emergencies. The position also participates in an on-call rotation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current New Hampshire Grade III Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid New Hampshire driver’s license
- Experience operating and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, sampling, and testing
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and respond to emergency situations
Preferred qualifications include municipal wastewater experience, SCADA experience, a CDL Class B license, and additional water or wastewater certifications.
