PRESS RELEASE - Whitefield Fire Department Receives Donation from Bank of NH

On July 28, 2026, the Town of Whitefield Fire Department received a $5,000 donation to purchase additional equipment and fittings needed for the department’s new Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) Fire Truck. The new truck was received on August 6, 2026, thanks in large part to the efforts of Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander in securing federal funding for the project.

The new engine will serve as a critical resource for wildland fire response operations throughout northern New Hampshire and northern Vermont, including Coos and Grafton counties. Through existing mutual aid agreements, the vehicle will help protect more than 800,000 acres of federally managed land, including portions of the White Mountain National Forest, properties managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities, Federal Aviation Administration sites, and national park lands.

The $5,000 donation will help ensure the new WUI engine is properly equipped and ready to respond when needed, strengthening regional emergency response capabilities and supporting the protection of communities, public lands, and critical federal facilities throughout the region.
